What You'll Do:
As a Medical Billing Representative, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of medical billing processes. Your responsibilities will include:
Handling insurance claims and billing processes to maximize reimbursement
Investigating and resolving payment delays, denials, and rejected claims
Assisting patients, providers, and third parties with billing inquiries in person and over the phone
Verifying insurance coverage and updating patient information
Submitting appeals and prior authorizations as needed
Processing credit card payments, refunds, and account adjustments
Ensuring compliance with confidentiality standards, OSHA regulations, and clinic policies
Collaborating with clinic staff to resolve billing issues and payment plans
What We're Looking For:
We're searching for a dedicated and detail-oriented professional with the following qualifications:
Required Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED
At least 2 years of medical billing experience, including customer service
Strong understanding of medical billing procedures, revenue cycles, and insurance processes
Proficiency in PC/typing, 10-key calculators, and spreadsheet/database software
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy
Commitment to patient confidentiality and professionalism
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous experience in a medical business office setting
Knowledge of CPT/ICD coding and medical terminology
Experience handling cash payments and patient accounts
Familiarity with Epic billing software
