Summary:

The School of Arts & Sciences at UAS is seeking an academic advisor to support students in the departments of Humanities, Natural Sciences, and Social Sciences. The advising relationship is a key component in ensuring student success and plays an integral role in helping Juneau's A&S students establish clear pathways to achieving their goals. Moreover, as an advisor, your work will directly support the retention and recruitment goals of the School of Arts & Sciences and the university as a whole.

The University of Alaska Southeast (UAS) is located in the traditional territory of the Lingít, Haida, and Tsimshian peoples, a majestic array of islands, channels, fjords, coastal mountains, icefields, and glaciers. Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited post-secondary institution.

Two years of experience in academic advising or in working directly with college students on matters such as academic success, academic coaching, counseling, orientation, student support, or retention services; OR two years of relevant experience.

Position Details:

This position is located on the University of Alaska Southeast campus in Juneau. This is a full-time, non-exempt staff position complete with both a competitive salary and full employee benefits package . UA provides a generous compensation package that includes retirement options, annual leave, 12 paid holidays per year, tuition waivers for employees and family members, and affordable medical, dental and vision care coverage. New hires will be placed on the UA Staff Salary Schedule , Grade 78, based on education and experience.
