VOLUNTEER COORDINATOR
JOB DESCRIPTION

POSITION TITLE: Volunteer Coordinator
Accountable to: Training and Volunteer Director

DUTIES: This position will engage with potential volunteers to ensure effective and efficient onboarding, maintain regular communication with volunteers to facilitate assignment of duties and evaluation of service, and provide department support of training and continuing education.  Works collaboratively with Training and Volunteer Director and Programs Department for successful execution of duties.

Volunteer Engagement:

  1. Responds to volunteer inquiries to assess interest in CASA volunteer opportunities
  2. Assists with the application process and scheduling of fingerprinting and interviews
  3. Oversees/coordinates the recording and tracking of each volunteers progress from inquiry to assignment
  4. Ensures that volunteers are provided with high-level customer care and are supported through the onboarding process
  5. Maintains accurate and current statistics of volunteer engagement and outcomes
  6. Utilizes Volunteer and Case Management Systems to track volunteer information and data
Volunteer Screening:
  1. Oversees/coordinates the process of opening the volunteer file and sending out references and background checks
  2. Assists with the completion of background checks and references on potential volunteers
  3. Informs applicant about volunteer opportunities and expectations
  4. Notifies applicant of status and upcoming volunteer training schedule
  5. Assists in assigning volunteer to specific programs or duties

Volunteer Training:
  1. Assists with annual updating of the volunteer training manual in consultation with the Director
  2. Responsible for identifying continuing education opportunities
  3. Uses various database systems to input training information for volunteers to schedule continuing education trainings and report training completion
Volunteer Recruitment and Retention:
  1. Assist with volunteer administration and compliance needs
  2. Assist across departments with recruitment events on and off site
Qualifications:
  1. Proficient in technology, particularly experience with Microsoft Product
  2. Experience with data entry in a data management system
  3. Strong organization skills with extra attention to detail
  4. Task oriented and able to manage multiple tasks at once
  5. Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  6. 2 to 3 years of relevant experience preferred

Job Type: Full Time

Salary Range: $30,000 - 49,999
