Job Description

The Maintenance Manager will oversee all maintenance operations of the facility. This role ensures maximum uptime, reliability, and efficiency of equipment by developing and implementing preventative and corrective maintenance programs. The Maintenance Manager will lead a team of technicians and work closely with operations to support plant performance and compliance with industry standards.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop, implement, and manage preventative and predictive maintenance programs for extrusion lines, shredders, grinders, conveyors, chillers, guillotines, balers, and all other related plant equipment.
  • Lead and supervise maintenance technicians, providing training, coaching, and performance evaluations.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues with extrusion machinery and auxiliary equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations, environmental standards, and company policies during all maintenance activities.
  • Plan and oversee scheduled downtime, major repairs, and equipment installation.
  • Maintain spare parts inventory in conjunction with Parts Coordinator.
  • Collaborate with Operations to minimize unplanned downtime and improve equipment reliability.
  • Track and analyze maintenance KPIs and implement continuous improvement strategies.
  • Lead root cause analysis for major equipment failures and implement corrective actions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, industrial maintenance, or related field (preferred); equivalent technical experience.
  • 5+ years of maintenance management experience in plastics recycling, extrusion, or plastics manufacturing environment.
  • Strong hands-on knowledge of extrusion machinery, motors, gearboxes, hydraulics, pneumatics, and PLC based control systems.
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage, motivate, and develop a team.
  • Excellent troubleshooting, problem solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Strong organizational and planning skills.
  • Knowledge of OSHA and other applicable safety regulations.
