Direct Support Professional Deaf/Blind Program - Fluent in American Sign Language

POSITION: Direct Support Professional STATUS : Part-time

DDA Deaf/Blind Day Program Regular(30 hours)

WHO IS A DIRECT SUPPORT - A supportive, “hands-on” person who assists.

PROFESSIONAL - Deaf-Blind Adults with Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities.

Responsibilities include:

Following a weekly schedule to support with vocational and educational goals.
Support with community activities, assist while at volunteer sites in the community.
Administer medications as needed, personal care, and socialization.
Other responsibilities as identified in the annual Person Centered Plan (PCP) meeting. Other duties per job description.

EXPECTATIONS:

Must be a team player with a positive attitude, enthusiastic, and respectful. Patience is required.
Annual Physical and Flu vaccine required annually.

QUALIFICATIONS:

High School Diploma; Relevant experience with Deaf/Blind adults is a plus.
Valid MD Driver’s License with 2 points or less, fluent in American Sign Language (ASL) and experience using tactile ASL.
