Private Chef Position – Brentwood (Santa Monica), California

Elite Private Chefs is seeking an experienced, highly skilled, and discreet Private Chef to serve an elite UHNW family. This is a rare and exciting opportunity to oversee all aspects of the family's culinary needs in an exclusive, setting. As the Private Chef, you will be expected to create exceptional, personalized meals that cater to the client's tastes, dietary preferences, and health needs. Discretion, professionalism, and a genuine passion for anticipating and fulfilling individual preferences are essential for success in this role.

We are seeking a skilled, dependable home-style chef who enjoys preparing thoughtful, well-balanced meals in a private setting. This role is ideal for someone with strong culinary experience—perhaps from restaurants or catering—who is looking to transition into private household cooking. The clients appreciate well-prepared, simple, yet elegant meals and value kindness, consistency, and professionalism. This position is ideal for a chef seeking a stable, part-time role with gracious employers who maintain a low-key lifestyle but still enjoy excellent, thoughtfully prepared dinners.

Location: Brentwood Park (by Santa Monica)
Schedule: 3 (possibly 4) evenings per week, dinners only (3:00 PM – 8:00 PM)
Compensation: $50/hour (approximately $750/week) — groceries paid separately
Household: Two older adults (mid-90s couple); occasional family guests
Start Date: ASAP (test cook required)

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare wholesome Mediterranean- and American-style dinners, emphasizing fresh, balanced, and properly presented meals.

• Shop for groceries and ingredients (costs reimbursed separately).

• Cook and serve plated dinners in the home, this is NOT a drop-off position.

• Clean up after each service and maintain an organized kitchen.

• Respect dietary preferences — no shellfish or excessive sodium/soy sauce .

• Communicate menu plans and grocery needs proactively.

• Adjust for guest dinners as needed (advance notice will be provided).

Qualifications:

• Experience as a private chef, or long-standing restaurant and catering 
• Friendly, team-oriented attitude with excellent communication skills
• Impeccable cleanliness, organization, and attention to detail
• Flexible and proactive, able to adapt to changing household schedules and needs
• Must demonstrate a high level of discretion and commitment to client privacy
• Strong foundation in diverse culinary techniques and global cuisines
• Maintain a spotless, well-organized kitchen and uphold top-tier food safety and hygiene standards
• Source fresh, seasonal, and premium ingredients; manage inventory and supplier relationships
• Accommodate dietary restrictions and wellness-focused meal planning (e.g., gluten-free, vegan, keto)
• Occasionally assist with private events, dinner parties, or special gatherings
